Visit with Yia Yia and Papou

Who's a big man?
Yia Yia and her grandbaby (funny, but to me he looks like a 4 year old!)

Some quiet time with Papou looking out the windows of our new home

So we did it, we moved. And wouldn't you know it, we had 3 bear visits in the first week. and here I thought the poop I found in the front yard was from the neighbours dog!? We have a lovely view of the city, the mountains and far in the distance the islands.

Midwife's Potluck

Last week we had a Potluck at our Midwife's office. It was terrible weather but Calliope and Dad seemed to have a great time getting wet. I actually don't think Calliope would have had as much fun if it were sunny out.
Calliope always loved the visits, she especially looked forward to seeing Penny. Funny, how someone can be so popular because they give stickers to you after a visit. Truely, Penny is a wonderful woman she always seemed so happy to see us. Calliope would talk about her for days before and after our appointment.
Terry Lyn is our Midwife. She caught both my children and I wouldn't have it any other way. The care is so wonderful, and I feel so secure during my visits at the office, being at the hospital and even coming to my home after the births. The experience that I have had seeing a Midwife is so inspirational to me. It has changed the way that I think about my health and the care I choose to recieve for myself and my family. I now take the time to ask more questions, I research more and I take the other view just for argument's sake. I realize that I am in control of what happens to my body and I have the right to know what tests are being done and why. As a pregnant woman, and a woman in labour, we have the right to enjoy our experience, and we should demand that all our caregivers respect that. I have never felt so good, strong and respected as when I were pregnant. It is a subject that I am drawn strongly to, and I hope to continue enlightening myself.

Farewell

This has been our home for the last 2.5 years. But it has much more history than that. It started 11 years ago when 3 single guys thought they were never going to afford rent every month. They worked hard, and managed to upgrade from a workout bench to a couch. From there they also upgraded from canned soup and Kraft Dinner to actually having something animal to cook on the BBQ. They managed to find girlfriends and those girlfriends turned into wifes.
And those wifes turned into mothers, and those 3 young men turned into fathers.
and it all started on K*******s St.

our home is set for demolition on Oct 15. Our landlord who has been so good to us over the years is going to rebuild and move in. It makes so much sense for her to be here.
We are going to miss you, #1515

Enjoying the outdoors.

Last week was awsome weather out, just the way I like it. Not too hot and sunny. We spent most days outdoors and heres some pictures.
Daniella, our neighbour gave us some plums off her tree. With out paying attention, Calliope managed to wolf down 3. I wont say anything else.
He's definately a big boy. Looking back at Calliope it took her 5 months to get to the weight he is at 2 months. I'm definately getting a work out.
Momma and Boy, just hangin out. Calliope met up with her friends Zaeyah and Zachery last week. She managed to find the strangest ride I've ever seen at the park. Believe it or not, it beats out the swing for popularity. Kids seemed to line up for this 'thing' just for few minutes of getting dizzy. "getting busy" as Calliope would say.

Oh, and do you remember this slide from when you were a kid? I haven't seen one probably since I WAS Calliope's age!
Walking home from the park. Sometimes I forget to take a look around. I didnt' realize how green the forest was until I actually looked at this picture. Man, do we live in a great place or what, look at that colour!
