Our summer thus far

Hey everyone, I can't believe that summer is almost over! It's been so quick, and adventurous that it's hard to imagine we will all be wearing sweaters soon.
Calliope had ballet classes in early july. You know, her Yia Yia bought her a black leotard and she just wouldn't get out of it, to tell you the truth she still wears it at least once a day. So, her classes served very well, and she still talks about it all the time. This photo isn't the best, I just love her face and smile in it. I know exactly what dance she is doing :) Yannis, in his new outfit that Mommy made, I'm not sure if he is crying because I am once again trying to take his photo, or if he doesn't like fish!
A favorite pass time, Chalk!!
Rainbow Butt!
Awww friends drawing... or at least friends until one steals the other's pencil!

The suspension bridge... boy is it scary to carry a little one on your back going over this deep ravine. I know I was holding on tight, Calliope was very brave and crossed all by herself! On the otherside... throwing rocks. One of our favorite things to pass the time.
Here we are, on the way back home!
I just loved this photo, and thought I'd share. Our little lady is always running... full speed.

HEY SHORTY IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!

Enough hugs to go around! the cupcakes were inspired by our invitation... thanks Dana!
A great game of hide and seek a the park! The 2 babes enjoying eachother's company

Great fun had by all! 3 years old... and so much fun!!!

How is it that a good year blimp can cost $15 in Helium to fill up??? I'm not too sure... but let say it was $1/minute in entertainment.

Steve was playing with it on it's 'leash' for a few minutes. He thought he gained control(using the remote control) of it and decided to let it go... up into the tree, and after that, up into the air, and off to the inlet... poor thing never had a chance. Until...

we are driving home, and I'm looking at the remote,' oh, these buttons didn't make it go up and down then?'

Steve "oh, theres buttons that make it go up and down???"

Steve just knew how to spin the things in circles

SCREWS AND MY CAMERA

This is what was up my daughter's nose a couple of weeks ago.. the screw! And she played for about 20 minutes before telling me it was there. I think it's a right of passage... sticking something up your nose!
Her room on the same day... she likes to dress herself in anything and everything she can find
So a few days ago, I look on my camera and see this! haha was someone playing with my camera? She is so quiet sometimes, not in a 'I think she is up to something' quiet, but early in the morning I think that she hasnt' come down stairs and I realize she's been down stairs playing for 1/2 hour with out making a peep!

Dad and his creative juices flowing as they make a garden stone for Dad's birthday :)

Yannis can be in the worst of moods, and I swear the moment he hears his sister's voice, his face just lights up. He loves her, he looks up to her and they can make eachother laugh just by looking at one another! So far the rivalry hasn't started

Things....

Oh my it’s been a long time

I fell like I just can’t keep up anymore. I’m not sure exactly what is taking up so much of my time, but what ever it is, I am not able to complete many things in my life.
Things that I miss
Reading , drinking coffee alone, blogging, sewing, showering in the morning, napping, running errands by my self, getting to bed before 11, popping into a store because I want to get something small(too much work to get 2 kids in and out of a car), SLEEP

Yes these things have slowly disappeared from my life, and I don’t seem to realize it until I try it again... and I think, ‘wow, I haven’t done this in a long time’

Things that I never knew were so much fun.
Running around the house trying to escape Calliope while using Buster as a block, talking with a 2.5 year old, knowing ‘it’s ok Mommy, I’ll eat that’, hearing 2 giggling voices in the back seat, listening to conversations of dollies, watching a toothless grin, making a game out of changing diapers with a small baby (key word small baby)

Things that confuse me
Hearing the toilet flush and not knowing what was in it, daylight savings full moon and Friday the 13th all in one week, how a 2 year old can be put in her bedroom to nap and play for 2 hours by herself, how someone can remember where Bob Marley is from, but doesn’t hear ‘put on your shoes’ 20 times, how a baby still wakes up 3times one night and sleeps 11 hours the next

Calliope just sat down and started suntanning in our front entrance way, the light was so beautiful, even though suntanning is the last thing on our minds at this time of year

Come out, come out, where ever you are!!! Yannis has been teething for what seems like forever. I cant’ wait to see those pearly white.

Yannis is defining himself lately. I’m not sure that it’s a boy thing but Yannis starts to let out a grunt along with this little body jerk when he is getting frustrated. He loves his food, and is getting to the point where he doesn’t want to be spoon fed, but pick it up himself. He loves his Calliope, his face just lights up when he sees her in the morning. It’s hard not to compare the 2 kids, but I am finding him a little more docile than my daughter. I haven’t pin pointed what it is, because he still has some wild moments.

Calliope just finished her first round of skating lessons. It was off to a rough start with the only ice time being that on her bum. Once the teacher skated up to her, she would just collapse and not get up for ½ hour. Today, she played Mr Wolf with the other kids, and glided too. Her favourite is when Dad would whip her around with a hula hoop while she held on with her hands. She received her report card today, and was so proud of the stickers she got.
